07:28 AM EDT, 10/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Argenta Silver overnight Thursday said it acquired the El Quevar silver project in Salta province, Argentina for US$3.5 million.

El Quevar hosts a high-grade pure silver mineral resource and substantial existing infrastructure. The Yaxtche deposit within the project hosts an indicated mineral resource of 45.3 million ounces of silver at a grade of 482 g/t and an inferred resource of 4.1 million ounces at 417 g/t.

The company appointed Aaron Triplett, as chief financial officer, effective immediately. Triplett is currently CFO of Fiore Management & Advisory. He has also been CFO for several listed companies on the TSX Venture Exchange and Canadian Securities Exchange.

The company has also appointed Argentine-based Joaquin Marias as vice president of exploration and development. He was instrumental in identifying the El Quevar opportunity for Argenta, the company said.

Following the acquisition, Argenta's shares, which were previously halted, are expected to resume trading on the TSX Venture Exchange under the new ticker symbol "AGAG" on Monday.
