Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Open Week on Flat Note in Monday Trading

10:42 AM EDT, 04/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts kicked off the week relatively flat Monday morning, nudging 0.037% higher to 1,855.14 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by media company Phoenix New Media ( FENG ) and internet and data center services provider VNET Group ( VNET ) , which climbed11% and 9.2% respectively. They were followed by travel company Tuniu ( TOUR ) and brand platform 36Kr (KRKR), which rose 5.9% and 4.8% respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by diagnostic imaging centers company Concord Medical Services ( CCM ) and polysilicon manufacturer Daqo New Energy ( DQ ) , which fell 8.5% and 7.5% respectively. They were followed by ad agency iClick Interactive Asia Group ( ICLK ) and online educational platform 17 Education & Technology Group ( YQ ) , which dropped 2.4% each.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by IT firm Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) and business process management company WNS (WNS), which rose 5.9% and 5.8% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm ASLAN Pharmaceuticals ( ASLN ) and financial services company ICICI Bank ( IBN ) , which increased 5.2% and 4.3% respectively.

The were no decliners from South Asia in Monday's trading.
