07:47 AM EDT, 07/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- ASML Holding ( ASML ) may expand its headquarters and manufacturing facility in the Dutch town of Veldhoven, the Netherlands Council of State ruled Wednesday, rejecting complaints by two residents opposed to the semiconductor company's expansion.

The ruling allows ASML ( ASML ) to expand the facility where it produces chip-making machines and to increase the noise levels around the facility.

The court ruled any change to the company's plans, such as submerging the facility underground, would be impossible because of the delicate nature of the microchips being produced.
