08:34 AM EST, 11/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- AST SpaceMobile ( ASTS ) said Friday its US licensed satellite BlueBird 6 is set to launch Dec. 15 from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in India.
The company said the BlueBird 6, which is the first of its next-generation satellites, will have nearly 2,400 square feet of commercial phased array in low-Earth orbit. It will be 3.5 times larger than its earlier satellites BlueBird 1 through BlueBird 5, with 10 times the data capacity, the company said.
AST SpaceMobile ( ASTS ) also said it is accelerating satellite production and expects 40 satellites equivalent of microns to be completed by early 2026, as well as five orbital launches by the end of Q1 2026.
Shares of AST SpaceMobile ( ASTS ) were up nearly 5% in recent Friday premarket activity.
