07:20 AM EDT, 06/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- AST SpaceMobile ( ASTS ) said Wednesday it has formed a strategic partnership with Vodafone Idea to extend mobile coverage to unconnected regions of India using space-based cellular technology.

The partnership will integrate Vodafone Idea's telecom network with AST SpaceMobile's ( ASTS ) satellite system.

Under the agreement, AST SpaceMobile ( ASTS ) will develop, manufacture, and manage the satellite constellation, while Vodafone Idea will handle terrestrial network integration, spectrum operations, and market access.

Vodafone Idea is a joint venture of Aditya Birla and Vodafone ( VOD ) .
