07:18 AM EST, 01/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- AtkinsRealis Group ( SNCAF ) said on Monday that Rolls-Royce Submarines appointed the engineering services and nuclear company to provide nuclear and infrastructure expertise as part of a project to build facilities for nuclear-powered submarines in the U.K.

Rolls-Royce jointly appointed AtkinsRealis ( SNCAF ) and Mott MacDonald as its new fissile design partner as part of plans to double the size of its submarines site in Derby, England.

AtkinsRealis ( SNCAF ) said Mott MacDonald and the company, working together as the PROPEL joint venture, will design the new nuclear manufacturing facilities and work with the incoming fissile construction partner to deliver them. The company is providing design and engineering services to the new GW-scale nuclear build program at Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C, as well as working on operations, maintenance, decommissioning and nuclear waste management at nuclear sites across the UK.

Shares of the company closed down $0.10 at $72.04 on Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
