09:51 AM EDT, 08/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- AtkinsRealis ( SNCAF ) said Thursday that its subsidiary Candu Energy signed a deal with Third Qinshan Nuclear Power Company (TQNPC) to support the 30-year life extension of the two Candu reactors at the Qinshan Nuclear Generating Station in China.

AtkinsRealis ( SNCAF ) will provide design, engineering, and procurement services to enable the prolonged operation of the plant.

Qinshan's Candu units began operating between 2002-2003 and are now approaching their scheduled date for component replacement, which will facilitate a further 30 years of operation.
