Atlas Energy Solutions, Kodiak Robotics Collaborate on Autonomous Trucking Technology
Jul 23, 2024 8:31 AM

11:03 AM EDT, 07/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Atlas Energy Solutions ( AESI ) and Kodiak Robotics on Tuesday announced a partnership in which Kodiak will equip new Atlas trucks with its autonomous driving technology.

Financial details weren't disclosed.

As part of the deal, Kodiak will provide its technology to Atlas through a driver-as-a-service licensing deal, supplying the hardware and software for the Kodiak Driver, a self-driving system, and offering operational support, while Atlas will own the trucks, according to a joint statement.

Atlas has ordered Kodiak driverless trucks for frac sand delivery in the Permian Basin, the companies said, adding that early next year, Atlas will begin operations with two trucks using Kodiak's advanced autonomous system.
