07:35 AM EDT, 09/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- AT&T ( T ) said Monday it is planning to expand Gigapower's fiber footprint to more than the initial 1.5 million locations it announced in December 2022.

Gigapower is a joint venture between AT&T ( T ) and BlackRock ( BLK ) .

The expansion may take place in current markets as well as the addition of new markets, the fiber services provider said.

AT&T ( T ) also said it is signing four new fiber agreements with commercial open-access providers, namely, Boldyn Networks, Digital Infrastructure Group, PRIME FiBER and Ubiquity, and will evaluate options where it wants to expand its Fiber offer.

Financial terms weren't disclosed.
