06:46 AM EDT, 06/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- AT&T ( T ) and Verizon (VZ) suffered temporary service outages in the United States that disrupted calls to other wireless carriers, multiple media outlets reported late Tuesday.
"The interoperability issue between carriers has been resolved", Reuters reported, citing the carrier. Calls to 911 or between AT&T ( T ) customers were reportedly not affected.
Verizon confirmed some customers in the U.S. Northeast and Midwest experienced "issues when calling or texting customers served by another carrier," however, said its network was operating normally, Reuters reported.
The Federal Communications Commission on social media platform X said it was investigating reports that consumers in multiple states were unable to make wireless calls.
