Auto Union to Hold Strike Votes at Stellantis Plants
Sep 22, 2024 12:04 PM

07:02 AM EDT, 09/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The United Auto Workers said Tuesday it plans to hold strike votes at Stellantis ( STLA ) chapters in the coming days.

"In the coming days we will be holding strike authorization votes at one or more Stellantis ( STLA ) locals," union president Shawn Fain said on Tuesday in a live-streamed broadcast.

Fain accused Stellantis ( STLA ) of having "declared war on the American working class" in a live-streamed broadcast by withholding investments it had agreed to and attempting to close plants.

"We're going to take action against Stellantis ( STLA ) up to and including a national strike if necessary," Fain said. "Stellantis ( STLA ) wants everyone to believe that they simply can't keep their commitments to American auto workers when they're one of the most profitable auto companies."

Stellantis ( STLA ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
