Autoliv Introduces Automobile Airbags Made of Recycled Materials

03:56 AM EDT, 06/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Autoliv ( ALV ) said Tuesday it has developed an automobile airbag cushion made of 100% recycled polyester.

The product is meant to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The company said it developed the 100% recycled yarns, fabric and cushions used in the airbags in collaboration with supply chaim partners.

The company said the new airbags have been tested and were as safe as their unrecycled predecessors.
