Automatic Fire Protection Expands Geographic Scope, Product Offerings With Two Acquisitions
Oct 15, 2025 12:15 PM

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Automatic Fire Protection (“AFP”), a fully integrated provider of comprehensive fire safety solutions, announced today its acquisitions of Apex Fire Protection and West Texas Fire, a division of West Texas Industrial Supply.

Houston-based Apex Fire Protection (“Apex”) specializes in installing and servicing fire sprinkler systems in a variety of commercial settings, while San Angelo- and Brownwood-based West Texas Fire (“West Texas”) provides fire extinguisher and kitchen hood services and other fire safety accessories. The acquisitions expand AFP’s geographic scope, allowing it to more efficiently serve customers throughout Texas, and enhance its product line with new specialty offerings.

“As we grow and expand, we like to say we are building a ‘family of families,’” said Ben Miller, AFP’s CEO. “We are committed to maintaining a family-business and local-branch-centered approach while offering the benefits of a larger organization. Both Apex and West Texas share AFP’s customer-first mindset and core values of safety, reliability, and service, and we are excited about our future prospects together.”

“Both companies will strengthen AFP’s ability to support customers anywhere in Texas with the most professional, highest-quality fire protection service available,” said Carlos Kraly, AFP’s COO and a forty-year industry veteran. “Apex and West Texas customers will benefit now from AFP’s strong team of 300 employees and our 55 years of experience in the fire protection industry.”

“We appreciate AFP’s commitment to always putting the customer first, just like we have always done here in Houston,” said Geoff Beyer, president of Apex. “Together now, we are building the biggest and best fire protection business in Texas by being straightforward and fair with our customers and always following through – and we’re proud to join the AFP team as it grows into the Houston market.”

“We have known AFP for a long time because of its strong reputation in the industry,” said Kendall Hirschfeld, president of West Texas Fire. “They’ve built a best-in-class training facility, they offer great benefits to their employees, and they are a benchmark for stability as they expand across Texas. We know they will continue to provide excellent service to our customers and will preserve what’s important to our team members. We couldn’t be more pleased with this partnership.”
