09:27 AM EDT, 09/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Avangrid ( AGR ) said Monday that proxy firms Institutional Shareholder Services and Glass Lewis have each recommended that Avangrid ( AGR ) shareholders vote in favor of its merger with Iberdrola.

Avangrid ( AGR ) said the proxy firm recommendations follow the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's recent clearance of Iberdrola's acquisition of the remaining 18.4% of Avangrid ( AGR ) shares it doesn't already own.

Closing of the merger is still subject to other conditions, including approval of the Maine Public Utilities Commission, the New York Public Service Commission as well as approval by Avangrid ( AGR ) shareholders, Avangrid ( AGR ) said.
