10:03 AM EDT, 09/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Avangrid ( AGR ) said Thursday its shareholders approved the merger agreement allowing Iberdrola to acquire the remaining 18.4% of Avangrid's ( AGR ) stock that it doesn't already own.

The merger, expected to close in Q4, still requires the approval of the New York Public Service Commission, according to Avangrid ( AGR ).

Upon completion of the merger, Avangrid ( AGR ) will become a privately held company and its stock will no longer be listed on the New York Stock Exchange, the company said.
