11:56 AM EDT, 10/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Avista ( AVA ) said Monday it was awarded $85.7 million in grant funding from the US Department of Energy to reconstruct the Lolo-Oxbow 230-kV transmission line in partnership with Idaho Power.

The transmission line runs from the Oxbow Dam located on the Oregon-Idaho border to Lewiston, Idaho, the company said.

The company said its Avista Utilities unit and Idaho Power will contribute nearly $86 million to complete the project over the next five years.
