01:43 PM EDT, 09/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Avride said Thursday it is stepping up testing of autonomous vehicles in Dallas, Texas, in preparation for the launch of its public robotaxi service with Uber ( UBER ) later this year.

The robotaxi fleet will consist of Hyundai Motor's IONIQ 5 electric vehicles equipped with Avride's autonomous driving technology, the company said, adding that the self-driving cars are being tested downtown and in surrounding areas.

Avride said the robotaxi service will expand its existing collaboration with Uber ( UBER ) on autonomous deliveries using Avride's robots.
