Jul 2, 2024 5:48 AM

08:23 AM EDT, 07/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Aya Gold & Silver ( AYASF ) on Tuesday said underground exploration drilling at its Zgounder mine in Morocco showed high-grade silver mineralization.

The company said best results from the exploration program included 2,870 grams per tonne of silver over 6.5 meters of core 656 gpt of silver over 12 meters and 5,696 gpt of the precious metal over 2.5 meters.

"Today's high-grade drill results ... continue to confirm high-grade continuity of silver mineralization at Zgounder," Chief Executive Benoit La Salle said in a release. "These silver-rich intercepts near the granite contact indicate strong resource potential at depth. We currently have four underground rigs turning and will deliver additional results in the coming months."

Aya shares closed up $0.03 to $13.58 Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
