07:16 AM EDT, 06/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Azimut Exploration ( AZMTF ) on Wednesday highlighted new lithium results from the second phase of diamond drilling on the Galinee property in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Quebec, Canada.
The results of this campaign confirmed a wide and high-grade lithium zone on the property, which now appears to be one of the most significant lithium pegmatite discoveries in the James Bay region, the company said, adding that it had drilled 14 holes for a total of 3,204 meters in this second phase.
The company, which is partnering with SOQUEM to develop the Galinee property, will continue drilling this summer. A property-scale till sampling and prospecting program is being carried out to identify additional drilling targets, the company said.
Among the highlights, Hole GAL24-018 returned 1.66% lithium oxide over 40.45 meters, including 2.61% lithium oxide over 21.60 meters and 0.95% lithium oxide over 14.40 meters.
Hole GAL24-022 returned 2.53% lithium oxide over 25.90 meters, including 3.16% lithium oxide over 19.75 meters. Hole GAL24-023 returned 2.02% lithium oxide over 32.23 meters, including 3.28% lithium oxide over 6.73 meters.
