07:29 AM EDT, 07/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Azimut Exploration ( AZMTF ) on Wednesday said it has launched a drilling program to further delineate the Fortin antimony-gold zone on the Wabamisk property in Quebec.
This second drill program will accelerate the definition of the Fortin Zone. The summer program aims to delineate the Fortin Zone with systematic drilling over a 1.5-kilometer strike and down to 200 meters vertically.
The 5,000-meter drilling phase is scheduled for completion in August. A second 5,000-meter phase will take place later this year to infill and expand the mineralized zone.
A notable result of the pre-drilling stripping phase was the uncovering of high-grade gold of up to 36.5 grams per tonne over 1 meter associated with antimony. The gold potential of the Fortin Zone may increase in depth.
Mechanical surface stripping and channel sampling along the Fortin Zone yielded results that included 2.08% lead, 2.64 g/t gold over 17 meters including 3.15 lead, 10.92 g/t gold over 4 meters; and 1.66% lead, 0.42 g/t gold over 14 meters including 2.31 lead, 0.50 g/t gold over 10 meters.
Six stripped areas along the zone confirmed the continuity of antimony mineralization, returning high-grade values over a strike length of at least 1.5 kilometers.
