Oct 10, 2024 10:26 PM

02:57 PM EDT, 10/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Baidu ( BIDU ) is aiming to launch its robotaxi service outside China, with its Apollo Go unit holding talks with several firms for its overseas expansion plans, according to media reports.

The Beijing-based company is looking at deploying Apollo Go robotaxis in locations such as Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Middle East, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Apollo Go intends to unveil Apollo 10.0, a new version of its autonomous-driving platform that is "designed for a global audience," an Apollo Go representative was quoted as saying by the Journal.

Apollo Go plans to expand into overseas markets in the "near future," CNBC reported late Tuesday, citing a source familiar with the matter.

Baidu ( BIDU ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
