Baidu Says Dubai Granted Autonomous Driving Trial Permit, Licenses for Apollo Go Ride-Hailing Platform

10:34 AM EDT, 09/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Baidu ( BIDU ) said Wednesday that the company's Apollo Go ride-hailing platform was granted an autonomous driving trial permit and a batch of 50 autonomous driving test licenses by Dubai's roads and transport authority.

Following the permits, which were first granted in July, Apollo Go's fleet of 50 vehicles have been conducting trials in designated areas on open roads of Dubai since August, the company said.

Looking ahead, Baidu ( BIDU ) and Dubai's transport authority plan to expand Apollo Go's fleet to over 1,000 driverless vehicles by 2028, the company said.

Shares of the company were up over 8% in recent Wednesday trading.
