Avantika Saraogi, the Promoter and Business Lead for New Initiatives at Balrampur Chini Mills told CNBC-TV18 that the company has dedicated the past four years to diligently working on the cane. Since the cane is healthy and disease-free, it is expected to result in better recoveries, and therefore, improved crushing and realisations.

She expects the country's sugar production to reach 30 million tonnes, closely aligned with the demand of approximately 28 million tonnes.

With an increase in cane quantity, Saraogi anticipates a significant uptick in ethanol production as well. She explained, “With the increase in cane quantity, we expect to get 50% more production of ethanol this year."

This Kolkata-based company has a market cap of ₹9,450 crore and it competes with industry rivals such as Shree Renuka Sugars, Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Dhampur Sugar Mills.
