09:37 AM EDT, 04/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Banco Santander (SAN) and Erste Group Bank are in discussions for the latter to potentially acquire a 49% stake in Banco Santander's Santander Bank Polska, an Erste spokesperson confirmed to MT Newswires in an email Monday.

There is "no certainty" that the talks will lead to a final deal, the spokesperson said.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Banco Santander did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Banco's stock rose 1.3% in early trading Monday.
