Bank of Montreal's quarterly profit rises on lower rainy day funds
Aug 26, 2025 3:08 AM

Aug 26 (Reuters) - Bank of Montreal ( BNKD ) reported a

rise in third-quarter profit on Tuesday, helped by higher income

from interests and as it set aside less in its provisions for

potential loan losses.

The Canadian lender reported a net income of C$2.33

billion ($1.69 billion), or C$3.14 per share, during the three

months ended July 31. That compares with C$1.87 billion, or

C$2.48 per share, a year earlier.

($1 = 1.3817 Canadian dollars)
