Banks to lend legal and financial support to staffs under probe, says report
Aug 6, 2018 2:17 AM

Top banks are looking to lend legal and financial support to existing and retired employees who are being probed by investigating agencies, reported The Economic Times.

The Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) in a letter to the top bank executives said the managing committee is looking to provide legal and financial support to employees being probed, after acting in good faith, the report said.

In the letter, the association explained the contours of the plan such as types of cases to be covered, the extent and nature of assistance to be given were shared in the letter, the daily said.

According to the proposal, banks will pay for all legal expenses such as court fee, advocate fee, transportation and cover other miscellaneous costs, it said, adding that they will also arrange for an advocate when an employee (even those who have retired) is summoned by the CBI and police for interrogation.
