10:57 AM EDT, 08/01/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Barclays ( BCS ) said Friday that it has exited the Net Zero Banking Alliance, citing the exodus of major global banks as a key reason for the decision.
The bank, however, remains committed to becoming a net zero bank by 2050, reaffirming its targets to mobilize $1 trillion in sustainable and transition finance and continue reducing financed emissions, it said.
Barclays ( BCS ) said it generated about 500 million British pounds ($663 million) in revenue from sustainable and transition-focused activities in 2024.
Shares of Barclays ( BCS ) were 2.9% lower in recent trading Friday.
