06:52 AM EDT, 10/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Barclays ( JJCTF ) reported Q3 basic earnings Thursday of 10.7 pence ($0.14) per ordinary share, up from 8.3 pence a year earlier.

Two analysts polled by Capital IQ expected 9 pence per share.

Total income for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was 6.55 billion pounds, up from 6.26 billion pounds a year earlier.

Four analysts polled by Capital IQ expected 6.39 billion pounds.

Barclays' ( JJCTF ) shares rose 3.9% in recent Thursday premarket activity.
