Bausch + Lomb Reports "Statistically Significant" Results From Study of Nutritional Supplement for Dry Eyes

09:02 AM EDT, 04/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Bausch + Lomb ( BLCO ) , an eye health company, on Thursday said that Frontiers in Ophthalmology, a peer-reviewed journal, published "statistically significant" results from a clinical study evaluating NutriTears, a daily nutritional supplement developed to address the symptoms of dry eyes.

The clinical study in 155 adults over 56 days met the company's primary targets, including significant improvements in tear production. The supplement was also well-tolerated and patients didn't report any serious adverse events during the study period.

Bausch + Lomb ( BLCO ) expects to launch the supplement, under the brand name Blink NutriTears, in the U.S. early in the third quarter.

BLCO is up 1.3% to US$15.10, in U.S. premarket trade.
