08:00 AM EST, 02/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Baxter International ( BAX ) said Monday its Chair and Chief Executive Joe Almeida has retired from his executive roles.

Almeida will serve in an advisory role through Oct. 31, the company said, adding that it has named lead independent director Brent Shafer its chair and interim CEO while it seeks a permanent CEO.

The company also said it has named Heather Knight chief operating officer.
