01:00 PM EDT, 05/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Bentley Systems ( BSY ) shares fell 7% in recent Wednesday trading after Schneider Electric ended talks with the company for a potential deal.

Schneider Electric in April confirmed it was in talks with Bentley Systems ( BSY ) for a transaction reportedly valued at more than $15 billion.

"Those discussions are now mutually terminated, and no transaction was agreed upon," Schneider Electric said Wednesday in a statement.

Bentley had formed a special committee to explore options for the family-controlled business, including a sale, Reuters reported in mid-April.
