08:34 AM EDT, 06/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A, BRK.B) said Friday that Chief Executive Warren Buffett donated 13,008,758 shares of the company's B stock to five foundations.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust will receive 9,930,357 shares, the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation will get 993,035 shares, and 695,122 shares will go to each of the Sherwood Foundation, Howard G. Buffett Foundation and NoVo Foundation, according to Berkshire.

Following the donation, Buffett now owns 207,963 A shares and 2,586 B shares, Berkshire said.
