Bharti Enterprises’ Akhil Gupta says Bharti Infratel's valuation is attractive
Dec 7, 2020 7:04 AM

Akhil Gupta, VC of Bharti Enterprises, in an interview to CNBC-TV18, said Bharti Infratel's valuations were very attractive.

“Therefore, we do believe that it was a great valuation and it was a good investment, almost self-funding because of the dividends. We have no further (acquisition) plan at this point,” he said.

According to him, the tower business is expected to do well.

On telecom sector, Gupta believes that Vodafone Idea will stay around despite the loss in the market share.

“It’s good for the Indian industry with three private players and one government player, it’s an ideal construct. Therefore, we hope that Vodafone Idea will continue to be an important player,” said Gupta.

Speaking about 5G, he said, “The current prices are unsustainable and therefore need to come down, but whether anybody will bid or not is something one cannot speculate”
