BHP Announces Delay for Jansen Potash Project Amid Rising Costs

06:45 AM EDT, 07/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BHP Group ( BHP ) said Friday it has delayed the timeline for its Jansen potash project in Canada, citing increasing capital costs and scope changes.

The miner now expects to spend between $7 billion and $7.4 billion on the project, up from an earlier forecast of $5.7 billion.

BHP stated that 68% of construction is complete, with production now expected to commence in H2 2027.
