07:03 AM EDT, 08/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BHP Group ( BHP ) said Monday that it part of a consortium conducting a pre-feasibility study into developing carbon capture utilization and storage hubs in Asia.

Other members of the consortium include Chevron ( CVX ) , Mitsui & Co., JSW Steel, Hyundai Steel, and ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, according to the statement.

BHP said the study will focus on potential large-scale projects that can store or repurpose captured carbon dioxide, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
