05:42 AM EDT, 05/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- BHP Group ( BHP ) and Rio Tinto (RIO) said late Monday they are collaborating on an effort to test large battery-electric haul trucks.

The mining companies will work with Caterpillar ( CAT ) and Komatsu to test four of their electric haul trucks at sites in western Australia's Pilbara region.

Each mining company will test a truck from each vehicle company.
