04:12 AM EST, 11/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BHP Group ( BHP ) said Monday it is no longer contemplating a combination with Anglo American following preliminary talks discussions with Anglo's board.

"Whilst BHP continues to believe that a combination with Anglo American would have had strong strategic merits and created significant value for all stakeholders, BHP is confident in the highly compelling potential of its own organic growth strategy," the company said.

In September, Teck Resources ( TECK ) and Anglo said they struck a deal to combine the two companies in a merger of equals to form Anglo Teck.
