BHP Signs Charter Contracts with COSCO Shipping for Ammonia Dual-Fueled Bulk Carriers

06:23 AM EDT, 07/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BHP (BHP) said Wednesday it signed contracts with COSCO Shipping Group unit COSCO Shipping Bulk for the charter of two ammonia dual-fueled Newcastlemax bulk carriers.

The vessels are expected to be delivered from 2028 and will be charted for five years. They will mainly transport iron ore to Northeast Asia from Western Australia, the company said.

BHP shares were up 1.4% in recfent premarket activity.
