09:27 AM EDT, 04/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said it finalized rule Monday that will make automatic emergency braking, including for pedestrians, standard on all passenger light trucks and cars by September 2029.
The new standard will save at least 360 lives per year and prevent at least 24,000 injuries annually, according to the NHTSA.
