WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Steel should stay a U.S.-owned company, President Joe Biden said on Wednesday during remarks to steelworkers at an event in Pittsburgh.

U.S. Steel "should remain a totally American company," he said. "And that's going to happen, I promise you."

U.S. Steel Corp has agreed to be bought by Japan's Nippon Steel for $14.9 billion.
