01:08 PM EST, 12/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- BigBear.ai Holdings ( BBAI ) said Monday it is collaborating with Proof Labs to develop a solution aimed at enhancing the Department of the Air Force's ability to combat real-time cyber threats and ensure the resilience of U.S. space assets.

Proof Labs, as the prime contractor, won the contract to develop the cyber resilient on-orbit tool, with BigBear.ai ( BBAI ) as a sub-contractor, BigBear.ai ( BBAI ) said.

BigBear.ai ( BBAI ) is incorporating its technology into the cyber-resilient on-orbit solution to enhance the US Air Force and US Space Force satellite security. The solution will use AI/ML for cyber intrusion detection by simulating and analyzing a range of cyberattacks on satellite systems.

BigBear.ai ( BBAI ) said it will integrate machine learning algorithms for continuous monitoring, real-time anomaly detection, and threat alerts for US Space Force space assets.

Shares of BigBear.ai ( BBAI ) jumped nearly 14% in recent trading.
