10:22 AM EDT, 08/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Bioceres Crop Solutions ( BIOX ) said Wednesday that the US Department of Agriculture has completed its regulatory status review for HB4 wheat technology.

The USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service found that HB4 wheat does not pose an increased plant pest risk relative to comparator wheat plants and is not subject to 7 CFR part 340 regulations for organisms modified or produced through genetic engineering, the company said.

This approval allows for HB4 wheat production in the US, Bioceres said.

Bioceres shares were up more than 11% in recent trading.
