Biote Shares Fall After Report by Short-Seller J Capital

10:08 AM EDT, 05/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Biote ( BTMD ) shares were 7% lower in recent Monday trading following a report by short-seller J Capital Research.

Citing "many former patients," the report said that the company's products aimed at slowing aging and increasing sex drive "make people sick."

The report added that "we believe BTMD's business could be cut by over 70% if the [US Food and Drug Administration] determines that the hormone treatments it pushes need to be regulated as drugs."

The company didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
