( BCHT ) , a player in specialty activated carbon technologies for sustainable air and water treatment, that saw its shares gain 2.8% last Friday, announced Monday it has signed a letter of intent to collaborate with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), a national engineering and environmental consulting firm, to provide Rapid Small-Scale Column Testing (RSSCT) for CEC water utility customers at its 34 offices nationwide.

Per the terms of the proposed arrangement, a statement noted, Birchtech ( BCHT ) is expected to provide RSSCTs for the national engineering firm's water utility customers at Birchtech's ( BCHT ) Analytical Design Center in Grand Forks, ND. Monday's statement said: "This advanced facility is equipped to provide utilities and industries with comprehensive testing, analysis, and expert guidance to tackle complex water treatment challenges -- all at a speed and cost unrivaled by the several competing RSSCT labs in the United States. RSSCT is a specialized testing methodology that simulates full-scale filter bed conditions in a fraction of the time enabling utilities to make confident decisions on granular activated carbon performance and optimize compliance strategies quickly and effectively."
