05:40 PM EST, 01/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Black Hills (BKH) powered up the first 12-mile segment and supporting substations of its Ready Wyoming transmission expansion project near Cheyenne, Wyoming.
The 260-mile Ready Wyoming project, set for completion by the end of 2025, will link the company's Wyoming and South Dakota electric systems.
The project, approved by the Wyoming Public Service Commission in 2022, will include six substations and aims to reduce reliance on third-party transmission systems while connecting to regional electricity markets, the company said Wednesday in a statement.
