08:53 AM EDT, 07/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- BlackBerry (BB) said Monday it has named Tim Foote as chief financial officer and Jay Chai as chief accounting officer.

Foote, whose appointment as CFO took effect Monday, succeeds Steve Rai, who is pursuing other opportunities outside the company but will stay until September as a consultant to help facilitate the transition, the company said.

Foote most recently served as the company's CFO for the cybersecurity division, BlackBerry said.

Chai has served as vice president and corporate controller at the company since May 2019 and will take on the expanded role of chief accounting officer, BlackBerry said.
