06:15 AM EDT, 04/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- BlackBerry (BB.TO) was at last look up near 5% in US premarket -- adding to the 2.1% gained in regular US trade yesterday - after saying Tuesday that it has teamed up with AMD to "advance foundational precision and control" for the robotics industry.
Under the partnership, the companies will "enable new levels of low latency and jitter, and repeatable determinism" for the next-generation robotic systems.
The platform will unite BlackBerry QNX expertise in real-time foundational software services and the QNX Software Development Platform with heterogeneous hardware services powered by the AMD Kria K26 SOM. The AMD Kria K26 SOM features Arm and FPGA programmable logic-based architecture.
Kria will allow an Arm sub-system to support the advanced capabilities of the QNX microkernel real-time operating system and allow users to run low latency, deterministic functions on the programable logic of the AMD Kria KR260 robotics starter kit, the company noted.
