06:24 AM EST, 12/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- BlackRock Municipal Income Fund ( MUI ) said late Monday it is planning to convert from an exchange-listed closed-end fund to an unlisted, continuously-offered closed-end fund called BlackRock Municipal Credit Alpha Portfolio.

The company said the conversion is expected to occur after market close on March 21, with an effective date of March 24.

The fund will delist its shares from the New York Stock Exchange on Feb. 14, the company said, adding that the shares held on the conversion date will be converted into institutional shares of the interval fund, which shareholders can sell through quarterly repurchase offers starting Q2.
