Block Q3 Adjusted EPS, Net Revenue Rises -- Shares Fall After-Hours

04:48 PM EST, 11/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Block (SQ) reported Q3 adjusted earnings late Thursday of $0.88 per diluted share, up from $0.50 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $0.88.

Net revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $5.98 billion, up from $5.62 billion a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $6.26 billion.

The company said it repurchased 14.6 million class A common shares for a total of $987.2 million during the nine months ending Sept. 30, leaving $2.9 billion available for additional repurchases under its share repurchase program.

Block's shares were down 7% in recent after-hours activity.
