07:25 AM EDT, 06/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Bluestone Resources ( BBSRF ) , which lost 3.1% on Friday, on Monday said the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Guatemala (MARN) is challenging the procedure that approved the environmental permit amendment for the Cerro Blanco gold project.

This permit amendment approval, which came in January, changed the mining method from the existing permitted underground development to surface mining development.

Bluestone said it is evaluating the legal aspects of the notification.
